Now there's body repair needed on the side and front, new rad needed, shocks wrecked, wishbone bent, wheel buckled and driven back. Could be worse I suppose! Lol"

Troubling times for Paul

Updated 13:50 7 September 2010
Paul O'Connell had a very difficult time at the Donegal hills on Sunday. He rolled his new for this season car just after the finish line on the practice run.
Paul was uninjured but the car will require major repairs.

This video shows Paul's unfortunate practice run at 5m11s
He needed a second place on Sunday to win the 2010 championship, but even though he tried in his previous car (club member Donal Griffin was driving this car at the weekend) he could only manage 7th allowing Simon McKinley to win the 2010 championship

Hillclimb Championship News

Report by Paul O'Connell 28 Aug 2010
Season so far has been good, with the new car took a while to settle into it. Was unlucky in Galway not to have recorded my first win with it. Got my first win in Wexford.
Really looking forward to Donegal. I'll be dissapointed if I don't put on a good show up there. Still leading the championship by 3 points even after Simon McKinley's home rounds last weekend.
Peter Cummins looks on course to win his class also for Limerick.
Eanna Carroll another Limerick MC member is flying in his class and 6th overall. Trish Daly looks set to finish 2nd in class 1 another Limerick MC member.

Niall O'Connell's story on the Lakes rally from start to finish.
We started on stage 4, the stage was very slippy and found it tough staying on the road, stage 5 was not too bad, started to get into it,
but the wipers went towards the end, we broke a bolt on the steering arm on the gap but it didnt slow us down too much but it got worse on the road section to parc ferme,
finished Saturday in 4th oa, got steering and wipers fixed on Sunday morning and everything went well all day, stages were nice, finished 2nd o/a in the historics.
