McKinley Wins Both days

Simon McKinley took clear wins both days although club member Paul O'Connell challenged hard and took second place both days
The weather looked very unlikely to clear on Saturday morning, although some people were saying it was going to clear.
The practice run took place on a slightly damp road but by the end of the day road conditions were perfect.
Simon set a good time in the first run laying down a serious time for Paul to beat. Paul tried but was still over 2 seconds behind at the end of the day.
Sunday's weather was the reverse of Saturday's starting ok but disimproving. Sure enough after dry practice and first runs the rain started spitting down.
Simon again set a good time on the first run to take the win.

Paul may have been a little disappointed with not taking wins on his home event but he did enough to take 2009 National Hillclimb Championship with 4 rounds still to go!

Hillclimb Weekend 1st & 2nd August
Rounds 11 & 12 of the Magnus Technology Ltd.
National Hillclimb & Sprint Championship 2009
Day 1 Hill: Saturday 1st August.
The Saturday Hill is on the main road between the Old Mill and Carrigkerry. The road is wide with an excellent surface and a fair to medium gradient. It has fast and flowing corners and a distance of just over one mile and was used for the first time in 2004.
Day 2 Hill: Sunday 2nd August
On Sunday we have the venue used for the first time last year, Boola Hill close to the village of Broadford. This is a nice wide hill with a series of sweeping curves which we trust will prove both enjoyable and challenging for competitors.
Prize-giving:
Prize-giving on Saturday will be in the Woodlands House Hotel, Adare following a meal which will take the form of a BBQ, weather permitting…. On Sunday the prize-giving will take place in the paddock area at the hill to facilitate competitors, some of whom have long distances to travel.

Saturday 1st August: BBQ at the Woodlands Hotel.
Tickets: €25. Please state how many tickets are required on the entry form. Also include payment for BBQ tickets with entry fee.
Mechanical Scrutiny:
