The day stayed dry and the event was enjoyed by the old hands and newcomers alike

The organisors led by Clerk of the Course Mike Mulcahy were blessed by a dry day at Barna Transport. There was a strong entry of 23 drivers, the included everybody from competitors with years of experience to to young people on their first event.

Mike Mulcahy had set up a challenging selection of tests for the competitors. The competitor said it a good course with bits for front wheel drive and rear wheel drive cars, novice and expert drivers.

A number of young people choose the event for their first event and by the end of the day they wanted to know when the next event. One of these Amanda Giles was driving her recently passed away father's car for the first time. This car is well known car in the autotest test community. It is a Triumph special but because of its looks it is more commonly called "The Tractor".

The Limerick club member entry was greatly increased on last year. there was also first timers here. Steven of the Guerin clan and Brian O'Connell. Mark Guerin was sharing the car with Steven. New elected director of the club Henry Nash entered a road going Ford Fiesta and spent more time blowing the horn than changing gear. The other new director Eamonn Barrett was on duty as penalty flag marshal.

There was a family atmosphere to the event with father and son John and Robert Fenlon, Father and daughter Alan and Sharon Clarke and brother and sister Don and Amanda Giles all sharing cars.

At the end of the day the top three overall were separated by only 0.58s. Paddy Power taking the victory ahead of Peter Falvey and Timmy Lynch.
