Third overall for Steve Wood and his Limerick co driver Keith Moriarty

Third overall for Steve Wood and his Limerick co driver Keith Moriarty at the fifth round of the Dunlop National Rally Championship, the Clonmel based Sepam Tipperary Stonethrowers Rally.

Ken Ryan co driven by Keith McCarthy took the their MkII Escort to second in class 9 and 30th overall.

Sean Liston and Codriving wife Katrina Walsh Liston retired the Honda powered BMW E30 after only completing 3 stages. Katrina said afterwards "We were having a great day in Clonmel today at the Stonethrowers rally, lying 13th overall after the second stage until the heavens opened as we left the startline on stage 3 and unfortunately we tipped the front of the E30 and bent a wishbone and had no spare, we tried straightening it back in service but to no avail, it snapped. So that was that for us! But at least it shows us what the car and team are capable of, hopefully better times and results to come. We'd like to thank our sponsors Derek Walsh Camper Centre, McCarthy's Garage Hospital, Fast Cams In-Car Cameras and CarPal. Apologies we didn't get any further in what appeared to be a promising day for us."

Eamonn Barrett and Ken Kenneally also retired after completing only 3 stages.

Roland Doherty and codriver Kenneth Quirke finished third in class 9 and 39th overall.

Ger Lyons and Steve O'Brien finished second in the Junior class 31.2 seconds adrift of first..
