TREATY PLANT HIRE LIMERICK FOREST RALLY 2019

On Sunday March 3rd, some of Ireland’s leading rally crews will descend on the mid-west for the Treaty Plant Hire Limerick Forest Rally. Organised and promoted by Limerick Motor Club, Keltec Engineering have also come on board as associate sponsor for the loose surface event which moves to new territory for 2019. The rally counts as round 2 of both the Valvoline Irish Forest Rally Championship and the Suirway Group South East Stages Rally Championship, in turn ensuring a high quality entry from Ireland and further afield. Clerk of the course Anthony Nestor has laid on three exceptionally smooth stages with each stage to be tackled twice totalling 60km, including a ‘three-counties stage’. Anthony would like to acknowledge the Rockchapel and Mountcollins communities and their respective GAA clubs for their co-operation and involvement leading up to the event and is looking forward to their continued support during the rally. Mechanical scrutiny will take place on Saturday in Mountcollins while the service area will be in Rockchapel on Sunday.

A new addition for this year’s rally is the marshals prize fund. €1,500 has been ring fenced for all marshals, timekeepers and stage commanders that give assistance to Limerick Motor Club during the event. This incentive is to reward the sacrifice that these volunteers make to our events week in week out, in all weather conditions throughout the country. This incentive is kindly sponsored by the competitors. Each volunteer will be given a golden ticket with the draw taking place on the finish ramp Sunday evening. One such prize is a half day tuition at a professional rally school.

Spectators are, as always, welcome to the rally and in return we ask you to arrive early, stand in spectator areas, obey and respect the marshals, only park in suitable areas, leave only your footprint and always KEEP THE RACE IN IT’S PLACE. Programmes containing stage maps, itinerary, entry list, etc. will be available from local shops in the days leading up to the rally.

Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable weekend of rallying.

Message from Clerk of Course Anthony Nestor

"We have heard it all before , good stages , competitor friendly etc etc etc so I’m not going to bore you to death with the same.
I started rallying in 1986 and luckily I still compete in about 10/15 events a year but until now I have never run a rally before.

I’m not good with protocol but am learning but I have so many ideas I want to try sone of which have not been done before and should make rallying a little more enjoyable to take part in.
These ideas have come from over 30 drivers I have co driven for and I’m going to try some of these on this my first event The Limerick Motor Club Forestry Rally on March 3rd.
I have put a team of like minded people around me so I’m looking for your support as either to compete or just share this advert as it all helps.
And so for the first of my ideas which is that rally organizers should be easily contactable so my number is

and my Assistant Aidan Walsh the hirer of helmets and other fine items contact number is
Feel free to contact us at any reasonable time if you want any details / information but be warned I don’t do mornings and he retires early."
