2008 Dunlop National Rally Championship

Sunday June 1st sees Limerick Motor Club run their annual Circuit of Munster Rally. The 2008 event is again sponsored by The Woodlands House Hotel, Adare and the Roche Group. This year the rally is a counting round of the Dunlop National Rally Championship and also the Top part West Coast Championship. The rally has attracted all the top names in the championship in their world rally cars and also has a huge local entry. Top local names include Eamon Daly, in his Evo 9 with Paul Purtill, Ed O’Callaghan, Gary Reidy, Aidan Walsh and Ed Synan in the top modified machinery. Sponsor Ian Roche and his wife Bernie are both driving Super 1600 cars under the banner of Excel Rallying.

The 4 stages are based around Pallaskenry, Askeaton, Rathkeale and Adare and should be most enjoyable for both competitors and spectators. The event kicks off from The Woodlands at 9am on June 1st and returns at 5pm

This year the Club has chosen the National Schools on the Rally Route to benefit from the programme sales. Programmes are available to buy from shops in West limerick.
